Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. The singer combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mixture. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe, as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta currently, she is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician by playing and singing at the local church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released exclusively in Japan It has since been remixed by numerous producers and is a staple in her live show. Her voice was also added to the music of The Fighting Temptations. She took on the role of primary piano player for Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choral leader for this theatrical production. Sunshine was the subject of national media notice during the four performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
