Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman who is a businesswoman. She currently holds the position as the president of Los Angeles Lakers, the National Basketball Association's controlling owners. Buss comes born in California was born into an exceptionally wealthy family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate businessman who became proprietor of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. After her parents divorced in 1972 She began feeling emotionally abandoned. As a 19-year-old she inherited management of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. The team was later renamed her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She first served as vice president of Lakers before she assumed the role of President of the Great Western Forum. Buss along with her five brothers and sisters and their father who was the owner of the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder up to his passing away in 2013, received this ownership by way of the trust. The five siblings enjoyed the same the right to vote. Buss assumed the role as President for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also co-owns Women of Wrestling, a professional wrestling promotion with headquarters within Los Angeles.
